Workshops in Nantwich 2008
Venue - Acton Parish Hall.
Drawing for the terrified -
February 26th to 28th
Cost £ 80
Materials £ 6
Aimed at absolute beginners, and those with some experience or a natural aptitude who feel
they would gain from some formal tuition. This course is designed around the belief that ‘drawing is a skill, not a gift’ and that anyone can learn if they want to.
In this course we will cover perspective – linear and circular, scale and proportion – how to translate the three dimensional world into two dimensions on your page. Finally tone and texture – making the marks to describe fur, feathers, foliage, stone etc.
For those who wish to be water colourists, there is no doubt that good drawing skills are essential and I believe that this course will give you over half the knowledge you require to be a good water colourist.
Mix and Match -
June17th to 19th
Cost £85
All the materials will be provided ( except canvases and paper ).
A chance to experiment with mixed media. We will use watercolour - gouache - acrylic - oils - pastels and pencils to create a wonderful range of images both representational and abstract. This is an excitingly creative experience not to missed.

We will study the atmospheres of autumn. The season of mist and mellow fruitfulness. You will learn how to get that misty haze, that natural colour mix of green, orange, brown and yellow. We will work on a frosty scene and even a bit of snow. Bring your own photos and I will also bring a selection .
